Our Wedding

We met in Toronto in 2023, where a simple connection quickly unfolded into something truly special. By the time 2024 rolled around, we had packed our bags and set off on a year of adventures—chasing sunsets, eating way too many tacos, and leaving our custom sticker in every country we visited (perhaps one day you will stumble upon one in the wild!). From the sun-washed beaches of El Salvador and Mexico to the dramatic sweeping mountains of Guatemala, each voyage brought us closer together. Our most recent adventure took place in South Africa, where Natasha got to live out her wildest veterinary school dreams — practicing dental work on lions and even darting wildlife from a helicopter! Today, we are living in Cyprus, navigating life, love, Richard's digital-nomad works and Natasha's late-night veterinarian anatomy notes. On New Year’s Day 2025, Richard popped the question. With hearts full and futures wide open, we cannot be more excited to celebrate the next chapter of our story. With all of you by our side.

Local Transport

The best airport to fly into is Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP), locatd in Romania's capital city of Bucharest. From there, you have several options for reaching Sinaia. The average travel time by car from OTP to Sinaia is approximately 1.5 hours (110km). Please note that driving in Romania is done on the right-hand side of the road. Important: Anyone without an European Union (EU) driver's license must obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to be able to rent a vehicle in Romania. (~ 0.1 km, ~2-minute walk)The bride and groom, along with their families, will be staying at this location. This historic neoclassical landmark—originally built in 1881 and recently renovated—sits directly opposite Dimitrie Ghica Park and just steps from the Sinaia Casino. With elegant rooms, park views, and refined dining, it blends heritage with luxury seamlessly.

Travelling to Romania and Europe

Do I need a traveller's visa to enter Romania?

As of January 1, 2025, Romania is now a full member of the EU's Schengen Area, making travel straightforward for most international visitors. Citizens of Canada, the United States, and many other countries, do NOT require a visa to enter Romania for short stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period. For non visa-exempt travellers

If you require a traveller's visa to enter Romania, it must be applied for at the Romanian embassy or consulate in your country of residence. Holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa or a residence permit from a Schengen state may be able to enter Romania for short stays without a separate Romanian visa, but it is always best to check the specific requirements with the relevant Romanian mission. We recommend confirming entry requirements well in advance to allow sufficient time for processing. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of travel and gather all necessary documents ahead of time to avoid delays.

Entry/Exit System (EES)

Non-EU nationals travelling to European countries for a short stay (up to 90 days within a 180-day period), will be registered in the Entry/Exit System (EES). The EES takes place at the border upon your first entry into the Schengen area by providing biometrics (fingerprints, facial image) at kiosks or counters. Travellers' data will be recorded in the EES whether the traveler needs a short-stay visa or is visa-exempt. The EES does not introduce any new requirements for travellers who are eligible to move freely throughout the Schengen Area, it simply serves as a tool to track and enforce the 90-day limit within a 180 day time limit. ETIAS: no actions required

The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is the EU's upcoming electronic pre-screening system for visa-exempt travelers (such as US, Canadian, UK citizens) visiting the Schengen Area. It is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026. No action is required from travellers at this point. ETIAS is currently not in operation, so no applications are being collected and no action is required from travellers at this point. Do I need to wear something different to the church?

The wedding ceremony will take place in an orthodox church, and we would appreciate our guests to have church appropriate attires to reflect the sanctity of worship by keeping shoulders and knees covered. The reception will be regular black tie attire.

Dress Code

Tour the stunning Neo‑Renaissance Peleș Castle and the enchanting Art Nouveau Pelișor next door. Both royal residences offer guided tours, museum exhibits, gardens, and splendid architecture. Price: Guided tour from approximately €10–€15 per site; combo tickets available online to save time. Getting There: ~1 km (10–15 min walk) or taxi; train to Sinaia station and walk through the park.

Peleș Castle & Pelișor Castle

Stroll through the lush park, admire flowerbeds, swan lake, statues—and step into Casino Sinaia for a guided historical tour inside the Art Nouveau venue. Getting There: Right outside the venue—the most convenient and scenic outing.

Dimitrie Ghica Park

Ride to high-altitude viewpoints, hike to Sphinx and Babele rock formations, or explore mountain trails and panoramic vistas. Getting There: Walk or taxi or bus to the Sinaia cable car base and then follow the signs once on top. Dress warm!

The Sphynx of Bucegi

Perched dramatically on a rocky hilltop in Transylvania, Bran Castle is one of Romania’s most iconic landmarks—and the legendary inspiration for Dracula’s castle.&nbsp;ust about an hour’s drive from Sinaia, it’s the perfect day trip for those looking to add a little mystery and legend to their Romanian adventure. Getting there: ~50 km (~60 minutes by car or taxi), orTrain from Sinaia to Brașov, then bus or taxi to Bran (~2–3 hours total). Estimated cost by road: €8–12; bus/train fares under €4.

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle)

The&nbsp;Sinaia Monastery, located in&nbsp;Sinaia, in&nbsp;Prahova County,&nbsp;Romania, was founded by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the great&nbsp;Saint Catherine's Monastery&nbsp;on&nbsp;Mount Sinai&nbsp;in&nbsp;Egypt. As of 2005, it is inhabited by 13 Christian Orthodox monks led by&nbsp;hegumen&nbsp;Macarie Boguș. It is part of the&nbsp;Archdiocese of Bucharest. Getting there: Easily accessible, about a 4 minute walk from Casino Sinaia.

Sinaia Monastery

Cantacuzino Castle&nbsp;is situated in&nbsp;Bușteni,&nbsp;Romania, in the Zamora district, on the street bearing the same name. It is about a 7 minute drive from Sinaia. The building, whose construction was completed in 1911, was conducted by the architect&nbsp;Grigore Cerchez&nbsp;(1850-1927), a prominent figure of the Neo-Romanian style, at the request of Prince&nbsp;Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, who was nicknamed "Nababul" (“The Nabob”). In more recent times, this palace has been featured in the hit TV show, Wednesday.

The&nbsp;Transfăgărășan&nbsp;road or&nbsp;DN7C&nbsp;is a paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the&nbsp;Carpathian Mountains&nbsp;of&nbsp;Romania. It has been named "The Greatest Road In The World" by hit TV series, Top Gear. The road, built in the early 1970s as a strategic military route, connects the historic regions of&nbsp;Transylvania&nbsp;and&nbsp;Wallachia. You are almost guaranteed to see brown bears (please do not feed them, or open windows to take pictures!).

Transfagarasan Road Trip

The Rhein Extra range is the symbol of Romania's golden age and, who knows, a celebration of a new era in the future. Served at the coronation ceremony of King Ferdinand on October 15, 1922, Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892 continues the tradition of the Official Supplier of the Royal House of Romania. Between 8: 30-16: 00 Monday through Friday and between 8:30-14:00 on Saturday and Sunday, you can visit the cellars and taste the cool and inviting sparkling wine ready to be taken out of the cellar. Due to the classic, elegant style, the pleasant, intimate ambiance, given by the natural landscape, this is the ideal&nbsp;place for an afternoon walk.&nbsp;

The Historical Center of Bucharest, or the&nbsp;Old Town, as it is called by the locals, is one of the most beloved and attractive areas in Bucharest, a place steeped in&nbsp;buildings built in neoclassical and neo-baroque style.&nbsp;Many of these buildings have on the ground floor terraces, cafes, restaurants, and shops, full of foreign tourists, but also locals, most of the year.he architecture is wonderful, and there are many old buildings to see and lots of shops and restaurants. You can walk into the Old Town anywhere in central Bucharest. If coming from further afield, take the metro to either&nbsp;Piata Unirii&nbsp;or&nbsp;Universitate. The easiest way to arrive from OTOPENI AIRPORT to Bucharest Old Town is via the 100 Express Bus (tickets are $1 and can be purchased via credit card tap, ApplePay, etc., directly on the bus).
